Absences that are cleared by attending Saturday School…
- Do not count as absences on individual student attendance records.
- Reduce individual student absence totals.
- Count as days present in school, due to the recovery of academic time.
- Help repair excessive absenteeism, instead of contributing negatively to it.
- Help improve individual student attendance records.
Clearing absences in Saturday School is based on the principle that academic time lost due to absences can be recovered on Saturdays. One four-hour session in Saturday School recovers one full-day absence or 6 absent periods.
Saturday School Sessions

Saturday School begins promptly at 8:00 am and dismisses at 12:00 noon.

Saturday School is held on most Saturdays throughout the school year.
Saturday School Credit & Expectations

One four-hour Saturday School session, from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, clears one full-day absences, or six period absences.

Students must stay the entire four hours for attendance credit.

Students are expected to bring school work to complete in Saturday School, as well as school supplies and their district issued laptop.

Recovering academic time in Saturday School means students should attend with the expectation of completing school work.

Student can be dismissed early and not given attendance credit if they choose not to conduct themselves appropriately, or if they choose not to work on class assignments while present at Saturday School.
