Dear Mariner Students and Parents,
I hope this message finds you well. Attached is a memorandum about the re-opening plan from the District’s Interim Superintendent, Dr. Aguirre. Regarding Mar Vista High School, we have been planning and will continue to plan for a “soft” re-opening on April 12th. A criteria was established by the District that indicated which students have been invited to return. You may have seen a survey that was sent out to certain groups of students. The number of students returning varies by schools. The number of teachers who volunteered to return on April 12th also varies by school. At this point in our planning, Mar Vista High School has approximately 15 teachers and approximately 50 students who chose to return. The students invited to return had a choice to return or not return. Teachers also had the same choice. At this time, a mandatory date for all teachers to return to campus is May 3rd given certain measures have been met.
We have taken every precaution and have put measures in place on our campus to ensure the safety of both students and staff. I am personally looking forward to the re-opening.
For your planning purposes, we will be observing Spring Break from March 22nd, 2021 through April 2, 2021. Distance Learning will continue on April 5th.
Wishing you all a healthy, happy and safe Spring Break and Go, Mariners!
